Profile of Enoch Kisa
The following profile was written by Wellspring staff member Jodi Komant from an interview with Wellspring Academy third grader Enoch Kisa
Enoch Kisa is like any fun-loving and energetic eight year old boy. He enjoys playing games with his friends, running around, and playing soccer and basketball. Surprisingly, he doesn't like dancing, but he confessed that is only because he doesn't know how! "My dad is absent, my mom is having a baby, and my little sister has a big problem!" Translation: His dad has gone to Uganda for a month with work, his mom is expecting her third child, and his sister has a bad cold right now.
Enoch is currently in the P3 class at the Wellspring Academy and his younger sister, Daniella, is in the Foundation Year class. He was pretty nervous about coming to a new school this year, but he said he had heard very good things about the school so he was excited. He made new friends quickly and was happy to find that he already knew a few kids from his old school.
At his old school Enoch had 60 other students in class with him but he much prefers his new class of 25. "The teacher can make sure all of us understand so that no one is left behind."
Enoch's favourite subjects this year are math and science. He really likes school, but is also thrilled about being able to have recess and do sports activities. At his old school, the students weren't allowed to play sports because they had to be in class all the time so they would do well on their exams. When asked what he likes the most about Wellspring Academy, Enoch promptly answered, "The teachers teach well!"
