We believe God has given Wellspring a unique window of opportunity in Rwanda.  Something special is happening and others are starting to see the difference being made by our Christ-centered approach to school transformation.

We know something special is happening when a Rwandan teacher, with a reputation as a harsh disciplinarian, kneels down in front of his seventy students to ask for their forgiveness, and completely changes his classroom.

We know something special is happening when improved relationships between parents and teachers lead 94 absentee children to return to their school.

We know something special is happening when a teacher we trained returns to their home area and speaks with hundreds of their fellow teachers and their local mayor about the need to change their attitude towards the 1994 genocide.   T

These are just a few of the testimonies Wellspring staff have received from district officials, school leaders, teachers, parents, and children about the impact of our Whole School Development approach.

By God’s grace, our joint investment is resulting in a growing number of Rwandan school communities whose leadership has a heart for service, where biblical values are lived out in community, teachers are reconciled with each other and their students, and teachers make a long-lasting and even eternal impact in the lives of their students.

By 2012, we hope to have transformed 33 Rwandan school communities, nearly 1000 teachers, and over 60,000 children.  If we are willing to step out in faith together, God will accomplish more than we can ask or imagine.

Reaching our long term goal will require us to overcome some short term challenges brought on by the current economic situation.  Due primarily to the faltering economy, we are facing a significant shortfall over the next few months.
